Felipe Leon

Felipe Leon was raised in Bogota, Colombia, where he began his ballet and traditional Colombian folklore studies at the age of 16. His passion for dance led him to New York City, where he studied at Ballet Academy East. In 2016, Felipe joined Diablo Ballet as a company artist, dedicating seven seasons to the company. He performed as a guest artist with companies such as Oakland Ballet and Béjart Ballet. Additionally, Felipe is the creator of Dance Laboratory and an alum of the National Choreographers Initiative (NCI). Currently, Felipe is in his second season with San Francisco Opera. Beyond his performance career, he has significantly contributed to the development of dancers by serving as an assistant to the rehearsal director for both Diablo Ballet and its trainee program. With a teaching career spanning since 2014, Felipe has imparted his extensive knowledge and passion for ballet to aspiring dancers, fostering the next generation of talent in the dance world.
