Hot Spot: Int/Adv Contemporary w/ Emily Hansel (IN PERSON)

About this class

Driven by Emily's movement philosophy of doing less to do more, this class will be a practice in executing movement defined by task, imagery, somatic intuition, and technical insight. Dancers will learn numerous, bite-sized sequences of movement (upright, floorwork, and everything in between) and practice them in repetition traveling across the floor. We will focus on releasing unnecessary tension and finding efficient pathways that build in effort, dynamism, and complexity as we get warm. Modification, adaptation, and individuality will be actively addressed and encouraged.
