Jazz Funk

About this class

This class is an expression of Movement in the style of JAZZ with no real boundaries. In the industry we call this Jazz Funk or Street Jazz. The levels will range from Beginner to Advance. The choreography will allow you to push for harder technique if you have it within you or you can stick to the basics. This class provides a space for you to learn basic Jazz techniques like spotting, finding your center, engaging your core, chasse and pirouette to name a few, all while learning a dance combo. It will utilize various jazz styles and free form dancing as well. All levels are welcome but rest assured you will be dancing jazz on some level with a lot of stylized movement to current, past and top contemporary and pop artists. So, If HIP HOP isn’t your thing or you just want to branch out into a new style then this JAZZ FUNK class is for you! NOTE: This is NOT a Jazz Technique class but will utilize technique at various times throughout the choreography. A basic understanding of Jazz will be helpful but not entirely necessary.
