Contemporary Floor Work - Intermediate (IN PERSON)

About this class

Kristin’s approach to contemporary Floorwork offers a playful and focused way in to understanding mechanics to move efficiently and safely in-and-out of the floor. Through anatomy and imagery, we will use connections to find alignment, strength, and momentum. Class will move smoothly from high to low playing with the partnership to gravity and to build trust with the down low. For this intermediate level class, dancers should come with an understanding of how to get to the floor safely from standing, be comfortable with shoulder rolls, and familiar with basic inversions. Kristin strives to cultivate a learning space where everyone is welcome to be supportive, investigative, and playful while taking care of themselves sharing the space with others. Suggested attired for class: long pants and shoulders covered, sock and/or knee pads may be useful for some movements.
