Intermediate/Advanced Open Adult Ballet

About this class

This class is designed for the Intermediate/Advanced dancer who possesses a solid understanding of fundamental ballet positions at both the barre and center, along with a broad working vocabulary. Barre and center combinations will incorporate increased complexity, requiring greater technical control, musicality, artistry, and stamina. All classes emphasize the importance of strong fundamentals, including proper positions, alignment, and correct use of turnout at both barre and center. Proper French terminology and ballet class etiquette are consistently reinforced. Due to the nature of ballet training and the creative spirit involved, instructors may occasionally choose to extend class time or continue offering additional teaching and coaching when time and studio scheduling allow (and when there is no class immediately following). Dancers who are unable to remain past the scheduled class time are encouraged to respectfully inform the instructor and exit the class quietly and gracefully. The instructor maintains autonomy in selecting and teaching combinations appropriate to the overall level and capabilities of the students enrolled in each class. Participation for dancers arriving more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time is at the instructor’s discretion. While class descriptions serve as general guidelines, the instructor reserves the right to adjust material, exercises, and pacing as necessary to ensure a safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
