About this class

Adult Heels Technique (Ages 18+) Adult Heels Technique is a beginner-friendly class focused on the specialized skills, strength, and mechanics required to dance safely and confidently in heels. Unlike choreography-based heels classes, this course emphasizes technical training, body awareness, and proper movement mechanics to help dancers build a strong foundation before progressing into more advanced heels performance and choreography. Students will learn the fundamentals of dancing in heels, including posture, alignment, weight placement, balance, walking technique, turns, transitions, ankle stability, core engagement, and movement efficiency. Classes incorporate strength training, mobility exercises, conditioning, and technical drills specifically designed to improve confidence and reduce the risk of injury while dancing in elevated footwear. Drawing from the principles of the Power Fusion Method, instruction focuses on progressive skill development, body awareness, and understanding how the body adapts when movement is performed in heels. Dancers will explore how footwear changes balance, weight distribution, alignment, and movement dynamics while developing the strength and control necessary for safe and effective movement. This class is an excellent foundation for dancers interested in heels choreography, commercial dance, cabaret, jazz funk, musical theater, performance arts, and other dance styles that incorporate heeled footwear. Key Benefits: Develops proper heels technique and movement mechanics Strengthens ankles, feet, calves, and core muscles Improves balance, posture, and alignment Enhances stability, coordination, and body awareness Builds confidence moving in elevated footwear Supports injury prevention through proper technique and conditioning Improves walking, turns, transitions, and movement control in heels Prepares dancers for heels choreography, cabaret, commercial dance, and performance training No prior dance experience is required.
